sharing the loot

Do you love to sew with vintage sheets? Have I got a sweet deal for you!

A while back, I posted about the Seattle Fabric Stash Purge Party, and my plans to put together some sets of vintage sheet FQs to sell there. The sale is coming up in just a couple weeks, and I've been diligently chopping up my stash and getting prepared to package them up. But then I had a thought - what if my wonderful blog readers would like a chance to buy these before the sale? I don't really want to make a load of cash - I just want to share the loot and decrease my stash. And then keep on buying more cool sheets! :-)

So, here's the deal: $15 for a flat rate envelope stuffed with FQs (that's including postage - what a deal!). My FQs are extra chubby, and I can fit about 18 of them in one envelope. You can pick a theme, like "pinks" or "blues and greens" or "multi-colored" or "stripes and geometrics" or "anything with flowers" or "anything except flowers" or "as little white as possible", etc. I'll try to match it as best as I can. At last count, I had about 80 different prints, so I'm sure I can come up with a set for pretty much any theme! Well, except purple - there's not much of that in vintage sheet land for some reason!

First come, first served, until I run out. Please comment here, or email me directly, and let me know what your theme is. I'll mail you back to confirm. As far as payment goes, I'm hoping we can just do direct PayPal payments. This will be my first time trying to do an online stash sale, and I don't really want to bother setting up a "shop". So, we'll see how this goes. If anyone has done something similar like this before and has any advice for me, let me know!

If you'd like a closer peek at what's in my stash, here are some images I grabbed from my past loot reports. Not all of these are available, but it's a good representation of what I've got.

If you're in the Seattle area, we can arrange a local pickup, and your set will be $10. If you're international, I think it will be $23 (assuming it doesn't weigh more than 4 pounds - I haven't checked!). And if you're totally nuts and want more than one set, we can talk about combined shipping!

  7. Hi! I would LOVE to take some fat quarters of those sheets off your hands! I am a fan of florals...pinks are good since I have a daughter and another one coming...so girly prints are cool, but I also really like that orange and green fabric in the picture second from the bottom if you have any of that left :) I'm not such a fan of the watery type patterns. (water colorish ones?) A few blue patterns would be great too. I hope this isn't too random of a comment. Please email me at princessjess3@yahoo.com! Thanks,

    Jess

  9. Hi Evelyn, It looks lovely but I'm not buying... trying to keep to my 'mustn't-buy-more-fabric' diet lol :-)

Hope you do a brisk trade. Just wanted to say the only vintage sheet I have (in 100% cotton) IS purple so if you need some purple... just say the word!

I bought it as a backing for a retro quilt for my son... came home, showed it to him and he said... "Yuk, mum, how could you buy that?" So there is my answer to that... find another backing! Sheet redundant.. for that project at least!

  10. I'd love to purchase a set from you! :) Like poster, Janice, I also love "big groovy flowers." Though you don't have much purple, if you have a FQ of that purple fabric in the 3rd photo shown above, that would be awesome! :)

Wow! Thanks so much for the opportunity! :) My e-mail is: kaimono [at] hawaii [dot] rr [dot] com.

  20. Oranges, Bright and Cheery. Lately that color has been drawing my attention every time I see it. I would love to make a project with that color as the main ingredient. Mixed with bright greens, yellows and soft blues too. It's going to be one of my favorites. I can feel it!
    (P.S. I have a paypal acct.)

  21. I would like a pack, please. The color combos of the sheets in the third picture appeal to me the most, for the project I have in mind, a quilt for my daughter. So pinks, with the soft oranges, greens, yellows and blues. Bright and cheery like quiltingdaisy! email chelmert at yahoo dot com. thanks!

  24. Evelyn - I know the stash party is long over, but I live in Seattle and would love to buy some groovy FQs (or squares, or even just scraps) from you if you are still looking to decrease your stash. Let me know. We could meet up, or I am happy to send you a check in the mail.

  25. I just had to comment as the green gingham sheet you show is a duplicate to one that we had years ago. It was a twin size for my daughter's bed. It made me smile to see a "blast from the past".

  26. Same as Aviva! What a gorgeous collection! If you still have any left over and want to share the love, I'd love to buy some.
